mortgage u Questions

How does the mortgage market turmoil in U.S effect the oil prices?? Nigerian energy minister said:?

that the rise in oil has various factors: refinery constrainst, mortgage market turmoil in the US and weak dollar.

the refinery constraints and weak dollar are easy to understand. but how does the mortgage market turmoil in US can increase the oil prices

You have asked the right doubt. Please be careful ministers are all -kowing gods. They say whatever they like and whatever they hear from their advisers if that suits them.Large populations across the World look at the USA with a feeling of jealousy towards an economically, technologically and militarily powerful country as well as their diasppointment that the US appears to get involved in wars and conflicts in many parts of the World leading to human suffering and killing. It is therefore a very widely used strategy for politicians in practically all countries to get popular sympathy and support by blaming the US President/ Administration or the US economy for whatever bad that may happen anywhere in the World. So you may not always find scientific truth from such politicians’ statements. But one thing evryone knows taht in economics everything may depend on every other thing. Unfortunately, in this case of mortgage market turmoil, the linkage would normally be reverse: it should have been linked in this manner – mortgage market turmoil in the US would lead to some credit crunch and a further dip in housing activity in The US which should cause demand for , amon other things, oil to be lower than what it would otherwise had been, which in turn would have had a sobering effect on oil prices. There is no perceiptible way the current turmoil in the mortgage market can cause an increase in oil prices except that the oil producers cartel can take an allibi to talk up the oil prices. Even the weakening of the dollar cannot be expected to cause a fall in oil supplies or a rise in demand for oil and thereby cause an increase in the prices of petroleum oil.

Can u get a loan out to be the deposit for a mortgage?

Me and my partner would love to buy a house but only have about 3K saved and there are no 100% mortgages about so can we not take out a loan then use that as the deposit?

Sorry, but if you can’t afford the deposit and closing costs…you can’t afford the home. No lender/bank with give you a mortgage if you have to borrow the deposit.

In response, the Obama administration has recommended reducing th…

The U.S. home mortgage industry first formalized risk criteria in the 1920s and 1930s to determine which applicants should receive funds. Guy Stuart demonstrates that the very concepts on which lenders base their decisions reflect a set of social and political values about “who deserves what.” Stuart examines the fine line …
